A violent, epic, action-packed urban quest full of very eccentric, often hilarious, extremely dangerous characters who also happen to be animals — the wildlife of New York City, to be exact. Published by the prestigious literary press The Porcupine’s Quill.
The Beasts of New York, by Jon Evans is one of the most memorable books I have ever read, hands down! I honestly do not understand why Mr. Evans could not find anyone willing to publish this book. It just blows my mind. I read this book almost a year ago and I still think about it almost every day.
Now, you have to understand that the characters in this novel are animals, each and every lovable one of them. They make you laugh, cry, cringe, and give you an ‘animals’ eye view’ of how life is in the big city. This story is a cross between Indian Jones and Ice Age (the movies). It starts and ends in New York’s Central Park, but the journey, from beginning to end, will keep you entertained into the weeee hours of the morning. I have, and will, recommend this book to everyone who has an imagination and a thirst for adventure.
